We feel that once we get someone to attend Drums Along the Waterfront for the first time they are hooked. We look forward to working with the SKM Group to grow our drum corps market." March 18, 2008 Announcements:
Drums Along the Waterfront is pleased to announce the return of Drum Corps to Ralph Wilson Stadium, the home of the 1990, 1995, & 2001 DCI World Championships! "Our line-up warrants a world class facility, and "The Ralph" provides just that; what a thrill for the corps and our fans alike," states
event producer Jack Gaylord Jr.
"We were happy with last years venue, the University at Buffalo's football stadium, but a scheduling conflict arose this year over the use of the stadium with UB's football team. The search for an alternative venue lead us to the Bills and "The Ralph," and as they say, 'when one door closes, another one opens!' We are just ecstatic! With our home being "The Ralph" and the DCI Championships being held in Indianapolis over the next ten years, we anticipate tremendous corps line-ups heading our way."
"We're appreciative of the efforts of those we have worked with at One Bills
Drive to be able to make such an announcement."
An announcement on ticketing will be made in the near future. Check back soon!

Big addition to DATW!
Back by popular demand, the Madison Scouts! "After talking to Scout director Jeff Spanos at the recent DCI meetings in Orlando, and given the go ahead by DCI, we are beyond thrilled to have the Scouts coming back for a second straight year, " says DATW producer Jack Gaylord Jr. Not originally scheduled to appear, Gaylord had conversation with Spanos where he learned the Scout membership voted last year DATW being one of their favorite shows on tour. "Our crowd reacts as if they have adopted the Scouts, and were very vocal in their appreciation of their performance last year..this is a big coup for DATW and our loyal fans!"
Big addition to Prelude to DATW!
Prelude to DATW is pleased to announce Beatrix Drum & Bugle Corps of Hilversum Holland to the line-up. "Along with our Canadian corps, Beatrix sure adds the International flavor to our event" says event producer Jack Gaylord Jr. "This is the 6th time Beatrix will be touring the U.S., and their corps is comprised of 90 talented members performing music our audience will surely be familiar with. Our hope is they will arrive earlier in the show week to take in all WNY has to offer. And hopefully we can arrange additional performances and educational clinic work for the corps where our WNY community, and most importantly our youth, can learn from these world travelers." Welcome Beatrix!
Welcome!
The Drums Along the Waterfront team would like to welcome Joanne and Donald Szeliga as Housing Coordinators for 2008. Generally known as one of the most difficult tasks in show operations, the Szeliga’s will be responsible for the housing of all the corps joining us for DATW and Prelude to DATW. Long time fans of the activity, the Szeliga’s will venture into operational side of the activity. "We have tremendous relationships with many schools in WNY who open their arms to the kids in the corps, which is vital to the operation and continuance of our events," says event producer Jack Gaylord Jr. "Joanne and Don will have their work cut out for them as we have to house over 20 corps, and the list keeps growing, in an 8 day period of time. I know they will be up to the task and supported in their efforts by the DATW team." Thanks Joanne and Don and good luck!
Vlaovich Wins Seat!
Jim Vlaovich, DATW event day production coordinator, was voted to the Tour Event Partner (TEP) committee at the recent DCI meetings in Orlando, FL. "While we know Jim is a valuable asset to the operation of DATW, we are proud others who produce shows throughout the country also see what he brings to the table," says event producer Jack Gaylord Jr. Jim now will serve on a board that represents all the shows in the country. As a life long drum corps devotee, Jim has been a marching member, served on the operations team at major DCI events nationally, is a DCI show coordinator, and has worked closely with production on "game day" of the DATW events to ensure their success," says Gaylord. "Jim and his wife Sue through their hard work, dedication and service keep the activity moving forward; we’re blessed to have them here in WNY!"
